Start of a 21 day journey on General HB Freeman
heading towards Pusan, Korea, my 1st time on a boat bigger than 20 feet long. As soon as we hit open water we were in a storm that lasted six days, the old lady would stand on her prop almost and when she came back down you can bet there were a whole bunch of us who wished we had joined the air force
The Freeman as seen from the air, not sure when this photo was taken
The below pictures were found on the Internet
Maneuvers / M46 Tank
The last picture you will notice the log under the right side track, this was done to level tank to more accurately fire the main gun. These old tanks did not have a rangefinder but instead had a long telescope
that was mounted on the right side of of the main gun. A good gunner could get 1st round hits at 1500 yards
This photo was found on the internet with a few paragraps below it, no copyright was posted nor the name of the owner. it is a good picture and I hope whomever took it doesn't mind my posting it
